2021 saw many big moments – a new US president in the White House, Harry and Meghan spoke to Oprah, England made it to the Euro 2020 Final and Adele released her new album ’30.’
Closer to home, Team TIC saw a range of ‘big moments’ too. We celebrated our 1st Birthday, and continued our programme of virtual events, helping our clients connect better to their teams and customers through shared experience. We returned to in-person events in June, hosting over 10,000 people over 6 months at events that included pop-up open-air cinemas and comedy shows, community engagement activations, launch parties and a culture-centric programme that drove footfall back to the highstreets of a London borough.
Alongside our project-work, we were selected as a finalist for CN Awards’ Start-Up of the Year, and our founders Megan and Alasdair were both listed on CIT’s Agency A-List of top industry talent under the age of 35.
The last 2 years has taught us (amongst many, many things) that nothing should be taken for granted and that flexibility is essential. With this in mind, there is plenty about 2022 that we are looking forward to.
Projects
We are seeing more confidence from those planning live events now compared to a year ago! Our vision is to connect the world through exceptional experiences, and we are excited to have projects in motion that help realise this. Upcoming projects include a calendar of launch events for a stunning coworking and lifestyle space in Finsbury Park, a Valentines Day installation in one of London’s busiest locations, and 2 high-profile awards ceremonies.
Our plans also include working with residential developments and public organisations to deliver a variety of community engagement and placemaking events over the summer, including of course celebrations for the Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations. Watch this space!
The Events Industry
After 2 years of lockdowns, and focusing very much on tasks in hand, we look forward to connecting to, and collaborating with our new industry colleagues and old friends this year. Having seen huge disruption and innovation in the industry over the last 2 years, our attendance at industry Round Tables and expos such as London Summer Event Show and Confex will help us learn about new trends, technologies and content that we can use to deliver the very best experiences.
Team TIC
We have been really lucky to work with some incredible freelance talent, and the time is rapidly approaching where we are looking to expand our Team TIC. This is a truly exciting, and slightly daunting prospect for any start-up business, and we are wary of the industry’s experience over the last 2 years… However, in 2022 we want to put our best foot forwards for our clients and ourselves, and growing the team will be a big part of this.
Follow us on Instagram and LinkedIn for updates on what we are looking for in our Intrepid superstar. If you’re interested in learning more about working with us, please pop us a note to hello@theintrepidcollective.com - we’d love to hear from you.
Outside the office
Away from the world of events, and start-up life, there is plenty to be keeping us busy… Alasdair is heading off to Wales to run the Ring Of Fire Race around Anglesey’s coastal path in September – 135 miles on some ‘new’ hills and clifftops, exciting! Megan will be running the London Marathon (for the 4th time!) in October this year, raising funds for the incredible work being done at Alzheimer’s Society.
We are incredibly grateful and appreciative of the fantastic clients, suppliers, advisors and friends that have helped us along the way over the last year. Here is to a smashing 2022 for all of us!
