To honour and celebrate LGBTQ+ history month taking place in February, our Co-founder and Director Alasdair was invited to take part in an interview with Diversity Alliance founder Gabrielle Austen-Browne. Part of a series from Diversity Alliance, this talk covered topics including Section 28, isolation, mental health and the need for authentic inclusivity in both the workplace and events.
We asked Gabby to tell us about Diversity Alliances’ mission and the aims behind the LGBTQ+ history month series of talks and interviews.
“Diversity Alliance is committed to promoting diversity, inclusivity, equality, and accessibility in the events, MICE, and hospitality community.
As part of this mission, we wanted to campaign for LGBTQ+ history month in February. By highlighting the significant contributions that LGBTQ+ individuals have made to society, we aim to create a culture of inclusivity and celebration of diversity through sharing conversations with incredible speakers.
This campaign also serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggles that the LGBTQ+ community faces and the need for continued efforts to promote equality and human rights.”

The full interview is available on Spotify and all podcasting platforms. Diversity Alliance offer a range of accessibility options that can help people with different needs and preferences to access all their video and audio content more easily. These include providing closed captions, live subtitles, transcript, audio descriptions, playback speed – so everyone can be part of the discussion.
