BEING MORE BAM

Updated: Jan 9, 2023

It’s been a busy year for Team TIC. We have curated and delivered placemaking programmes for some of London’s biggest residential developments, launched activations in high-profile public spaces and have strategized and executed audience development initiatives.

As the pace has picked up, so has our need to grow the team! This Summer saw the addition of Holly and Abigail to The Intrepid Collective as Event Managers, as part of our journey to being more ‘BAM.’ Here, Abigail describes what it has been like to come on board Team TIC:

"It is a really exciting time because I think the last two years have made everyone miss events and there is such a demand for them, and people want to get involved and attend as much as possible to make up for lost time.

It has been such a busy summer, with events all different sizes and scopes taking place all over London. Organizing intimate talks in North London on the importance of mental health, to running pop-up cinemas in West London, to a personal highlight of managing a skills day at BAFTA. It has been an exciting start so far and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year looks like for the TIC team."

Thanks Abby! On that note, let’s take a minute to ‘introduce’ Holly and Abby, to hear about their favourite work events and get a sense of what makes them tick.

HOLLY

✔️Favourite work event Tramlines Festival 2021, the first full capacity festival of its size to take place in Europe following the pandemic and saw 35,000 people attend over the 3 day weekend. We received confirmation that the event could take place only a month out, and against all odds pulled together and produced the best festival to date with our highest customer rating, a covid safe event with key research data for the government and were awarded Gold by Attitude is Everything for our Accessible provisions and onsite facilities, a project I lead. ✔️Greatest ‘out of office’ achievement After being quite certain I’d never be able to complete a half marathon, multiple dates being moved and a delay in my training, I completed the Aintree Half in February and ran a PB of 1:52. Maybe a marathon is next…? ✔️Fun Fact My middle name is Blossom and eggs (fried, scrambled, poached or boiled) are Satan’s food!

ABBY ✔️ Favourite work event My favourite coincidentally, is also the most stressful! It was the Royal World Premiere of James Bond ‘No time to die’ in September 2021. I was so excited to be a part of it, but covid made me wait an extra 2 years after its original scheduled premiere, and they even had to refilm some parts due to product placement! But it was worth the wait and an event I’ll never forget. ✔️ Greatest 'out of office' achievement Running the 2019 London Marathon, I signed up with my housemates in the ballot, with a 1 in 25,000 chance of getting a ballot place and I was the only one who got a place! I chose to add 2 charities that I would donate any sponsorship money too, the 1st was The Douglas Macmillan Hospice. It is amazing and has lovingly cared for my aunty and uncle that were sadly lost to cancer. The other charity is Coppafeel! Which I am one of the ambassadors for, they empower young people to check themselves and know the signs and symptoms of breast cancer. I got involved after having a breast lump removed when I was 19. It was also an amazing drive for me throughout the training adding sponsorship, knowing I was doing it for them on rainy cold days when I didn’t want to run. ✔️ Fun fact I am 6ft 1, without heels, I am not sure if that counts as fun fact but it is the question I get asked the most ‘how tall are you?’

We are chuffed to have Holly and Abby on board, to help us continue to deliver ‘BAM’ experiences for our clients. Watch this space!
